Essence Care@Home™ in line for Internet of Things Awards

Following a year of recognition with several industry awards for its WeR@Home™ connected-living, cloud-based solution, Essence’s other flagship product line, Care@Home, is proving its maturity as a market-leading home care solution for the aged by earning its 2nd finalist nomination for the Internet of Things Awards in the category of Most Innovative Device Solution.

Awarded by Total Telecom and associated with the prestigious World Communications Awards, the IoT Awards are in their 2nd year of existence and are the 1st awards in the industry to recognize companies for excellence in IoT-enabling technologies.

The major criteria for the projects eligible for the awards are those that have achieved measurable results and recognition in the judging period and “clear evidence of innovation and a plan for sustainable success”.

Care@Home is an end-to-end service platform analyzing the behavioral pattern of the aged or infirm in their homes and is able to recognize – and send alerts – when the resident behaves in a way that could indicate sickness, injury or general health deterioration. This award-winning Solution is based on the system’s use of passive detection devices to intelligently track movement around the home and employ an advanced algorithm to build a personalized pattern of behavior and recognize events outside of the norm.

Care@Home was first recognized for innovation and excellence in the ESX Innovation awards earlier this year where it won the Digital Health/Well-Being Systems category at the ESX professional security exhibition in the United States in June 2015.

Other finalists in this category are:

  1. BASQ
  3. Eurotech SpA
  4. Siyata Mobile Inc

The winner will be announced on the December 1, 2015 at the iconic Wembley Stadium as part of the World Communication Awards. Winners will be named in 9 defining categories in front of an audience of around 500 of the most senior executives in the communications industry.
